Censorship of free speech in Canada – why was Vanessa Beeley de-platformed?

The thought has occurred to me that since my views on Syria and the White Helmets are identical to those of Beeley, suppose I proposed to give a talk at a Canadian university or public library. Would I, as a retired professor and senior scholar, be blocked in the way that Beeley was? Given the precedent of what happened to her, why should I be treated any differently?

The War on Syria: Vanessa Beeley’s Lecture Tour in Canada

Ms. Beeley will appear in seven Canadian cities challenging the official Canadian government narrative on Syria. The title of her lecture is “Canada’s Dirty War Against Syria: the White Helmets and the Regime-Change-War Billionaires.” The seven cities are Hamilton (Dec. 3), Toronto (Dec. 5), Mississauga (Dec. 6), Ottawa (Dec 8), Montreal (Dec 9 and 10), Regina (Dec 11), and Winnipeg (Dec 12).

US increases funding to White Helmets who are persecuting Syrian Christians in Idlib

The White Helmets should be condemned as the parody of humanitarianism they really are but they should also be held publicly accountable for their role in perpetuating misery and bloodshed in Syria. Failure to do so will result in their rebranded appearance in another country and another “humanitarian” war sanctioned by their presence, another heinous crime against humanity, another oil jihad fuelled by the US coalition of terror. It is time to say “enough.”
