Growing old in Gaza has another meaning…

It means survival. It means you have lived through more death, destruction and terror than anybody else around you. It means living with memories that burn your soul and sear your heart. It means having endured loss, grief, sorrow. It means age withers your hope. It means dreaming of the land you were forced to leave. It means putting the keys to your home under your pillow every night, never knowing when you might once again turn them in the lock. It means resistance.
